Cold Bay is located on the tip of the Alaska Peninsula, in the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge. It lies 634 miles southwest of Anchorage. The City was incorporated in 1982. Because of its strategic location, Cold Bay serves as the regional air transportation hub for the Alaska Peninsula, and also provides services and fuel for the fishing industry.
